S.E.E.D. Leaders

Who are S.E.E.D. Leaders?

S.E.E.D. Leaders are young adult volunteers who discern, plan, and execute a S.E.E.D. Retreat. Leaders serve as a guide for S.E.E.D. retreatants to develop their relationship with God, with their families, and with other retreatants. A Leader's mission is to provide an open and nurturing environment for the retreatant to find God through talks and fun activities.

S.E.E.D. Retreat is unique where most of the retreat planning is actually done by the leaders and not the priest. A leader will work on a team comprised of 9-15 other leaders to plan a 3 day retreat. The planning process takes about 10 weeks during late spring and early summer. If you feel called to serve S.E.E.D. retreat as a leader, please reach out to the National Coordinating Team.

Ignatian Retreats

All S.E.E.D. leaders are required to attend an Ignatian weekend retreat each year. Browse the list of retreats below to find one that best fits your schedule. We recommended the bolded Young Adult retreats, but attending any of the listed options will meet your annual requirement. You can also explore additional Ignatian retreat opportunities here

If you are unable to attend a weekend Ignatian retreat, please reach out to your Regional Coordinator. They can help you arrange an alternative option, such as other approved Catholic retreats or spiritual formation experiences, including pilgrimages, camions, or the Spiritual Exercises in Daily Life (SEDL), to fulfill your yearly requirement.
